The Firemen's New Year's Ball proved the year’s most successful fundraiser with 100 tickets or buttons sold at the door. Proceeds topped 325 dollars as attendees from other towns joined locals in ringing in the new year. Supt. Destructive Christmas Morning Fire Destroys Home

A Christmas morning blaze gutted Mrs. Lillie Muecke’s home sparing no possessions while occupants escaped with injuries. Clarence and two friends were inside as the tree sparked, igniting cotton decorations. The fire forced neighboring residents to flee and left several boarders and family members with substantial losses. Insurance and relocations noted. residents seek sympathy from the city.
