State Department of Education notes minimum requirements to certify Shi ner High School. Recommends evaluating credit submissions, extending home economics, offering biology to 9th or 10th graders, and restricting credit in elementary sciences. Encourages remounting fiction, updating history maps, and expanding physiology labs. Commendations for PE grounds, PTA reading material, longer physiology lab period, stenography and typing for beginners, and strong curricula, rules, ethics, and orderly school system.

Jaeggli Dies Prominent Moulton Businessman at 64

Rudolph Jaeggli of Moulton died at his home Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock aged 64 years 9 months and 5 days. Funeral held at 2:30 PM yesterday at the family home with burial in Moulton Public Cemetery. Survived by wife Zelma Ku bits, three children Dr Sam Jaeggli Edwin Jaeggli and Mrs H L Zschlappel, three grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters.

Highway 109-Yoakum-Moulton-Flatonia to be surfaced

Lavaca County officials, after talks with the State Highway Commission, report that the department's chief engineer says the topping contract will be let next spring. Work would start at the Fayette Lavaca line and finish at Yoakum, with hopes for Flatonia to connect with Highway 3. Funds have limited completion possible, so spring is the target to advance Highway 109.
