Mrs Annie Knox Habermacher of Shiner died Friday at 6 p m aged 74 years 7 months Funeral services were in Shiner Methodist Church with Rev G T Gibbons Rev H G Fraser and Rev A E Rector officiating Interment at Shiner City Cemetery Active pallbearers listed Honorary pallbearers named She was born May 13 1856 in Wharton County Texas to Thomas Thatcher and Esther P Jackson married J C Habermacher Dec 21 1873 had eight children survived by daughters Ella Lane and Cecile Plageman three grandchildren two nieces and other relatives Her husband died Dec 19 1923 They once owned stores and Post Office at Quinan later Hungerford Then Shiner Gazette owner for 33 years Devotion to church marked her life and she recalled Civil War memories She moved between Cleburne Flatonia Shiner and other towns never failing to join God’s people.
