Miss Etta Theresa Schraer daughter of Mr and Mrs Ben Schraer of Moulton died in Hermann Hospital Houston Friday December 17 at 11 50 am Rosary was recited Saturday and Sunday by Rev Joseph Kopp and Rev John Matocha Funeral services were held December 20 at 9 00 am from Smith Funeral Home Moulton followed by Requiem High Mass at St Josephs Church Interment was in Moulton Catholic Cemetery Pallbearers were cousins Henry and Ervin Schraer Charles Seidenberger Emil James Wesselsky O P McMurrey and Edwin Anderle She was born at Shiner Texas September 3 1921 age 27 years 3 months 14 days She had worked in Houston Survived by parents and brothers and sisters Benita Schraer RN of New Orleans Dorothy Walters RN of San Diego Alvin Schraer of San Antonio Clarence Frances and Joseph at home The death shocked relatives in Shiner The family expresses sincere sympathy.

Advertising begins this weekend for the Shiner Volunteer Fire Department annual New Year’s Eve dance at Blucher Park Friday December 31 from 8 p m. Admission is 60 cents for gentlemen and 25 cents for ladies with tax included. Music by Pateks. Fireworks are prohibited on the grounds and the event proceeds regardless of weather. Everyone is invited.

Lifetime Lavaca Resident H. H. Stratman Dies at 75
Funeral rites for Henry H. Stratman were held at Roe der Funeral Home and United Dr. Martin Luther Church after his death at his Shiner home Friday December 17. Born near Shiloh in Lavaca County on April 4 1873 he married Emilie Spies in 1899 and lived in Shiner Hochheim Prairie Yorktown and finally Shiner. Survived by wife three sons two sisters a half brother a granddaughter and five grandsons, he was active in church and the O D H S Lodge. Interment at City Cemetery with pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
