Emily Hornshu Suffered Stroke at Renger Hospital

Miss Emily Hornshu of Halletts ville is seriously ill in Renger Hospital after a stroke Friday night. Her 76th birthday was recently observed. Her niece Mrs. Carl W. Goerte provided the update.

Anita E. Siegel of Victoria died suddenly at home age 57. Services held December 10 1973 with mass at Our Lady of Victory in Victoria and graveside at Shiner Catholic Cemetery. She was survived by husband John M. Siegel two daughters Marys Johnson and Faltesek, mother Mary Tomek Kuchar a brother Frank Kuchar four grandchildren and died after long residence in Victoria.

JETS Christmas Tree Sale Opens at Welhausen Park

The JETS annual Christmas tree sale starts Saturday December 1 1973 at Welhausen Park. Trees of all sizes available weekdays 4 to 5 30 p m Saturdays 8 00 am to 5 00 pm and Sundays 1 to 5 pm Proceeds benefit the JETS scholarship fund supporting Shiner High School students.

Louis F Hanzelka Arkla employee dies in Yoakum

Funeral services for Louis F. Hanzelka of Yoakum were held December 12 1973 at St Joseph Catholic Church with burial in St Joseph Cemetery. An Arkla Gas Co honor guard escorted the flag draped casket. He died December 10 at 5 15 p m in Huth Memorial Hospital at age 60 7 20. Born April 20 1913 at Shiner he married Rosie Fortik February 5 1946 and worked for Arkla Gas in Yoakum since 1941. He was a World War II veteran. He is survived by his wife Rosie mother in law and numerous relatives.
