Maeker Family Observes 100th Anniversary in America
The eighteenth Maeker reunion in Shiner honors a century since John Maeker I migrated from Prussia in 1868. Walter Freytag led memorials at the cemetery and Legion Park, with a noon family meal and planning for next year’s gathering. Members recognized include oldest John Maeker and youngest David Hewig, with festivities by the Victor Caka Orchestra.
