Used Clothing Drive At School Seeks Donors

Community school calls for donations of good used clothing. People are invited to contribute garments for students and families in need at the campus collection site and through daytime drop offs.

Elo Koenning Rites In Gonzales

Elo Koenning of 1308 St. Michael Street Gonzales died August 14 1968 in the Veterans Administration Hospital Houston at age 57. Funeral services were held August 16 from Baker Funeral Home with burial in Woodman Cemetery. He served in the U S Air Force during World War II and was a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife Erna Koenning a son and several relatives. Military graveside rites were performed by the Shiner Legion Post.

Services To Be Held Wednesday For Mrs Frieda Filip

Rosary for Mrs. Frieda Filip 63 native of Shiner who died August 14 1968 at her home was held Tuesday at Buffington Funeral Home Shiner. Funeral services are set for 8 45 a m Wednesday at the funeral home with Requiem Mass at 9 a m at Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church Shiner followed by burial in Catholic Cemetery. Survivors include a son Donald Filip of Africa a daughter Irene Rowell of Littleton Colorado a brother Albert Hirsch of Fargo North Dakota a sister Mrs Ann Krause Refugio a half sister Mrs Nora Macha Yoakum and four grandchildren. Complete obituary will be given next week.

Accordion Concert In Hallettsville by Herman's Orchestra

The annual Moulton American Legion Picnic is set for Sunday August 25 at the Moulton Legion Hall.
