Obituary: Mrs. Hermine Mewes Dies in Shiner at 63
Mrs. Hermine Mewes died Saturday at 2 30 PM at her daughter Adele Rabe's home near Shiner after weeks under medical care. Born June 2 1866 in Germany, she emigrated to the U S with her parents, lived in Schulenburg and Shiner, and married Franklin Mewes on March 1 1886 in Flatonia. Survived by 11 children, 6 grandchildren, her husband, three sisters, and three brothers, funeral Sunday at 5 PM from the family residence with burial in City Cemetery. Rev A H Falkenberg conducted services.
