E H Tenberg Laid To Rest
Funeral services for E H Tenberg who died July 27 were held July 31 in Shiner with Rev L McDaniel in charge. Interment followed at Shiner City Cemetery. Survivors include his widow four sons two daughters and his mother with several siblings and many relatives attending from across Texas. he served in World War I and was a senior patrolman at Camp Stanley.

R L Allert at Glaze City reports two cotton bales on Saturday July 31. The first bale weighed 549 lbs, brought by Chas Hajek, bought by Geo W Turk for 20 cents. The second bale weighed 561 lbs, brought by Mrs Louise Zimmerman, bought by R S Allert for 19 3 4 cents. At Midway, Stanley Kutac raised the first bale gin by J J Vrana on July 27, weighed 510 lbs, bought by Vrana for 20 1 2 cents. The second Midway bale, brought July 30 by Frank Bolech, weighed 591 lbs, bought for 20 cents by Vrana's Gin.

A 54 member Texas squadron stationed with Northwest African Air Forces at a North African base is accused of preaching pro Texas propaganda to local Arabs. Mrs. A. T. Buesing sustained a severe left arm injury from a fall two weeks prior. After treatment at home she was sent to a San Antonio bone specialist who operated and removed two small bones. She spent three days at Santa Rosa Hospital, then stayed with her daughter Mrs. Melvin Tyson before returning for follow up care last Friday.
