In Goliad the Presbyterian church sale of pies cakes and chicken salad drew buyers but Easter morning attendance dipped as patrons reportedly drank pharagogic remedies after the salad was prepared in a new zinc tub. No fatalities were reported and demand for baked goods remains strong despite the scare.

Governor Ferguson Signs Cutouts Ban Law
The governor signed a bill banning muffler cutouts for cars and motorcycles with the law taking effect in June. Violators may be fined ten to one hundred dollars or jailed up to ten days in the county jail, per Moulton Eagle.
