Remains Brought Home for Burial of Carmel Man
The remains of Earl Stephenson, killed at Blackfoot Idaho, were brought to Carmel for interment. He was 28, lived most of his life in the county, and was a son of Mrs Jane Stephenson. He had been in the West for two years and is believed murdered while working overnight in a furniture store.

Electrical storm injures man and stock near Sheridan
A severe Wednesday storm moved in from the west causing heavy rain and lightning damage to wires. Mrs. Steele was struck and killed by lightning north of the town while Anderson Collier survived a lightning strike and regained consciousness after rainfall. A team horse was badly hurt southeast of Ekin where waters flooded fields as the heat wave broke.

Lightning Kills Woman as Two Babies Edge Death

Monon Railroad Plans Track Move Near Carmel
Reports say the Monon railroad will shift its tracks from the Carmel right of way to run about a half mile west. Officials argue the move avoids Carmel’s slow speed limit, saves time and money, and bypasses two sharp curves on a steep grade.
