Tax Assessments Rise In Indiana Counties Amid Property Boom
In Noblesville June 13 the State Board of Tax Commissioners discussed boosting real estate assessments by about twenty percent in central Indiana as land sales rise to 100 to 125 dollars per acre since the last appraisal. Local assessors have already raised assessments about ten percent since four years ago due to higher property values, especially farm land. The board expects friction over adjustments as counties align with market prices and legal rulings remain unsettled.

The Children’s day services at the Methodist church last Sunday morning were among the best. The girls’ chorus sang beautifully and the original class exercises impressed the audience. Decorations with plants and wreaths looked tasteful and fitting. A very large crowd attended and the collection of thirty two dollars will support church educational efforts.
