Gorn Prizes Awarded At Hamilton Corn School Club Meet

Nearly one hundred Hamilton County boys attended the annual Hamilton County Corn School Club meeting in Noblesville. Masons Rededicate Hall In Town Ceremony

The Masonic lodge held re dedication services for its new hall with Sheridan Orchestra music. H A Budaley gave the Welcome and hall presentation, W L Hare addressed the trustees, supper fed 200 plus, and local officials spoke. The remodeled hall is praised as a premier county meeting place.

Adams township forms financial boards under new depository act

In compliance with the depository act, Adams township elects a President and Secretary for three financial boards, and publishes notices in two county papers. The Town Board is led by Geo W Young with J W Lindley as secretary. the School Board by Ino Gif ford with F W Kercheval as secretary. the Advisory Board by James Murry with W S McMurtry as secretary. Deposits bids will be received December 30 at each board’s meeting place.

Bank declares usual 5 percent dividend at Sheridan

The directors of the First National State Bank of Sheridan approved a 5 percent dividend for the six months ending December 31, 1907. They also added $2,000 to the bank surplus, bringing total surplus to $17,000.

Dairy Special Arrives to Promote Indiana Dairying

Indiana dairymen will learn from a Monon Railroad Dairy Special organized by Purdue Experiment Station and the State Dairy Association. The two day coach train with dining and sleeping cars will tour Sheridan on Friday December 18 with 45 minute stops at key stations to discuss profitability, home dairying, and dairy methods.

Mail Volume from Sheridan Office Exceeds 2600 Pounds Out

In November the Sheridan post office sent out 2601 pounds 15 ounces of mail and received just over 20 000 pounds. An order effective July 1 requires postmasters to weigh outgoing mail for six months to locate the source of a 21 million deficit.
