Plans for the Mt Pleasant Area and Chippewa Indian Centennial run July 16 to 25 with themed days. Michigan Indian Day features 1500 participants in ceremonial attire. Isabella County Day includes an agriculture parade and centennial ball for the queen.

David E. Burrows a Shepherd Village attorney aged 42 announces his candidacy for Isabella County Prosecuting Attorney on the Democratic ticket. He has practiced law in Isabella County since 1956 and promises prompt vigorous prosecution of county crimes. He earned a BA and JD from the State University of Iowa and practiced law in Iowa for nine years before moving to Michigan.

TB Rise Seen In Isabella County and Michigan

Isabella County shows nine new active tuberculosis cases in 1963 up from two in 1962. statewide total reached 2 433 new active cases, with 29 counties down and fourteen unchanged. Males outnumber females two to one, and children under ten account for 308 new cases.

Good Neighbors Help Friend in Hospital Field Rescue

Seven neighbors helped Billy Walton working in a thirty acre bean field while he was in Central Michigan Community Hospital. One and a half hours later the field was restored and ready for the welcome rain. The workers were Les Miller Barney Travis Harold Travis Pat Travis Arlo Curtiss Sonny Gimmey and Jim Switzer.
