A Shafter man died when his car left the highway on Sept 24 near Paso Robles. His wife, formerly Xay Capino, was listed in serious condition but improved to serious later. Three men arrested while attempting to cash forged payroll checks
Shafter police detained three men at Top's Market after a forged payroll check was presented. One man, later identified as Arthur Jopez Pabilla, was wanted by the FBI for unlawful flight from Arizona over a Wasco burglary. The others were Frank Theodore Sanchez and Jesus Emirguez Rodriguez, both of Wasco, charged by Kern County sheriff's office with forgery. Police found three Ring checks in the car for $81.65 $64.43 and $65.43. The case may be forwarded to the FBI for Wasco burglary ties.
