Kern County Aging Commission reviews health and flu plan
The Kern County Commission on Aging met September 19 2011 with a luncheon guest City Manager John Guinn. Jane Yadon spoke on senior flu vaccination 13 to 40 dollars with free shots for some and a clinic October 12 near Shafter. A Healthy Harvest Fair October 29 offers free flu shots for the first 100 participants and health screenings. A new government call center for Medi Cal and Food Stamp questions is planned with 50 55 reps and a voice recognition system. Lito Murillo discussed In Home Support Services budget cuts restoring hours but triggering 20 percent cuts if targets are not met. potential elimination of Fraud Investigation if goals slip.
