Man Shotgun Wound In Street Battleground Leads to Arrest
Ronald Wayne Knox, 22, was hospitalized with a shotgun wound to the head and chest and believed sight in his right eye is unlikely. Gary Osborn, 31, was arrested on assault with intent to murder after authorities say he fired from a 12 gauge shotgun through a car door. Police link the shooting to a prior alleged burglary and note Osborn’s 12 year old daughter was in the vehicle.

Shafter Branch to Close Three Days for Remodeling
The Shafter Branch of the Kern County Library System will close to the public on Monday September 30 Tuesday October 1 and Wednesday October 2 for remodeling. Joseph deRamos branch librarian notes patrons with due materials may use the front door book drop. Regular hours resume Thursday October 3 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 to 5 Friday.
