A meeting to plan the circulation of petitions for the proposed Shafter Recreation and Market District will be held next Tuesday October 8 at 7 30 p m in the Richland Intermediate School library. Kern County’s Junior Livestock Auction at the County Fair posted a new record with 1 032 exhibitors earning 565 039 for lambs hogs and cattle. Grand champion steer sold at 6.00 per pound and grand champion lamb at 25 50 per pound with other records including 384 market steers averaging 97 cents per pound and a 25 50 lamb bid for Annette Fanucchi.
