The Shafter High Patrons sponsor The King and I a community musical to be staged December 6 7 8 at the SHS Auditorium. Tryouts October 1 for singing and dancing and October 3 for speaking parts at 7 p.m. in the SHS Auditorium. Director is Bob Thullen with Barbara Crettel choreographer Annie Ss Yardae and Dave Madsen set designer. Cast includes Ray Novak as the King and Martha Novak as Anna with over eighty participants. Children from Richland Choirs are encouraged to audition. Proceeds fund High School scholarships and community support urges participation.
