Shafter Man Held After Shooting Leaves Victim In ICU
Richard Chacon 38 of 350 Rosalee is charged with shooting Pedro Lopez Lopez 30 of 444 West Rodriguez seven times in the chest and legs with a .22 at Chacon’s residence. Lopez is in Kern General Hospital Intensive Care after emergency surgery. Police say the incident occurred before 12 40 a.m Tuesday and that Lopez is an illegal alien detained by Border Patrol May 3. Arraignment is expected in Bakersfield Municipal Court Wednesday.

A Wasco family was hospitalized Tuesday morning after an accident involving Victor Enns 43 his wife Katherine 42 and their children David 12 and Sandra 7 in Bakersfield. A Shafter man was involved in the crash. The condition of the family and the driver was not specified.

Severe Laceration and Concussion From Highway Collision
A Monday night crash near Wasco left Mr Enne with a severe facial laceration and his wife with a broken wrist and concussion. Edward Pena, cited for driving on the wrong side of Highway 46 and without a license, was eastbound when his station wagon crossed the center line and struck Francis Adams of Alabama, whose truck then collided with the Emns family car. Pena and Adams escaped injury.
