California Cal-MMET reform unites Kern agencies in drug enforcement
On August 1 2009 the California Multi Jurisdictional Methamphetamine Enforcement Team was reformed in Kern County. The unit brings together officers from the Kern County Sheriff's Office District Attorney's Office Probation Office and the Shafter Police Department to coordinate law enforcement efforts against street level narcotics. The objective is identifying arresting and prosecuting those involved in use possession and sale of street narcotics while protecting children and removing exposed youths from illicit drug environments.
