In California on October 31 1957 a Chrysler Plymouth showcase introduces the 1958 line featuring Auto-Pilot pushbutton automatic assist bubble windshields and Windsor series. New styling interior fabrics and dual air conditioning highlight a range of trims with advanced torsion ride and fuel intelligent options.
1958 Chrysler Windsor adds dual blower units with one in the engine bay and another on a luggage shelf. A single evaporator blower circulates 15 percent more air. Fourteen models in three series plus varied Town and Country wagons. 18 colors and 45 color fins. Chrysler 300 D option and nine passenger Town and Country wagons noted.
Plymouth unveils a broader 1958 lineup with refined styling on Belvedere Sport Suburban and Savoy Plaza models featuring Silver Dart side trim and directional fins. New color options, luxurious fabrics, six engine choices including 305 hp Golden Commando V8, stronger Power-Flow six, and enhanced air conditioning with unified control system.
