Federal officials seek prison sites in Kern County list meeting set

Downtown shuttle service aids shoppers during street closures
The City of Shafter offers free Dial-A-Ride shuttles from Budget and Apple Market lots to downtown businesses from October 17 to 20 and October 23 to 27, 10 am to 4 pm, with 10 to 15 minute return trips. Doorside drops and pickups apply while closures affect James Street at Central, Pacific, California Avenues and Muntersad Central Avenue as concrete pavers and curb work proceed, with completion slated for November 2000.
