Shafter High School cancels classes for an inservice day as teachers meet. Next Wednesday October 24 an activity schedule is in effect with early dismissal at 2 p.m. and buses at 2:10 p.m. The PTA carnival Friday October 18 runs 5 to 9 p.m. Dinner prices are 6 dollars adults and 3 dollars children. The Shafer Historical Society meets October 18 at 7 p.m. with Chuck Hitchcock speaking on Chief Rojas.
