The next corps meeting is set for Monday night at Sam Lachenmaier's realty office. Applicants must be 16 to 45 years old per Betty Long. Corporal Fonela Pope serves as public relations officer.
A large delegation of Shafter growers and Bakersfield shippers is expected at a Kern County Growers and Shippers Association meeting Friday night at 7 30 in the Agricultural Building Bakersfield. Ben Sill is president of the association.
Shafter High Spanish class students reported on a year of good neighbor letter exchanges with Latin American peers before the Shafter Rotary Club. Joel Wiebe and Aline Potts described gains in cross cultural understanding, while Miss Miller spoke about Australia and recent citizenship.
An institute session was held at Wasco Elementary School on Tuesday evening October 12. Speakers included Mr Hahn on Health Education Clifford Baughman on Sanitation and H W Kelly of Shafter High School on Mental Hygiene.
The Wednesday Afternoon club will hold its first eight o'clock meeting of the season on Wednesday night October 20 at the Women's clubhouse with Mrs. Phil Channeson in charge. Red Cross chairman Mrs. A L Trowbridge will be the speaker and husbands and friends are invited.
All three Shafter Boy Scout organizations Titlops 44 and 53 and the Cube Pack are now going strong, reports say from a Scouters meeting held Tuesday night. Chester Bartlett Kern county Scout executive attended the meeting.
