Colonial Times Notes on Law and Leisure
A column mixes social commentary on a theft case with observations on justice and a bystander’s identification of a criminal. It touches on courtroom treatment, parole, and a false imprisonment claim, then moves to comments about ichthyology in Hawaii, climate fish and Florida, followed by humorous vignettes on lectures and an oyster eating fad. The tone is acerbic and anecdotal with local California references.
