Tractor Accident Leaves Man Hurt In Bakersfield
Leo Acklin of Bakersfield is in serious condition at Kern General Hospital after a tractor rolled over, pinning him beneath it near Leonard road Lerdo highway. Deputy Sheriff Art Knoy reports Acklin was working with another man when the wheel axle broke, causing the tractor to roll off an embankment. The mishap occurred Monday afternoon and is under investigation.

Shafter officers Earl O Brien and Robert Nixon used a prior traffic ticket record and vehicle description to arrest James Elmer Firestone, a wanted man with warrants totaling over 23000 dollars from several states including Texas and Oklahoma. Zenk Named to Shafter City Council to Fill Vacancy
