Juke Box Drama at Shafter High School

Shafter High School Drama Club presents Juke Box a 14 member cast with Kim Allen Sean Brannon Maria Soto Darren Bogie Amy Bruce and others on Monday November 24 and Tuesday November 25 at 7 30 pm in the school auditorium Tickets are 2 50 in advance 3 at the door Promoter Jana Millwee and director Kitsy Bosniak lead the production with Terry Byrd as club president and Tricia Larsen as secretary treasurer Information on advance tickets available by calling 746 4961 or a drama club member.

Turkey Trot cross country run hosted by SRPD

Shafter Recreation and Park District hosts its annual Turkey Trot cross country run at the Shafter Sports Complex near the high school football stadium for boys and girls through age 13. Pre registration is 1 dollar, day of race 1 50, with 50 cent discount for early sign ups. First race at 4 p.m. and late registration starts 3 30 p.m. Each age group runs in their category with small fry 7 and under followed by 8 9, 10 11, and 12 13 year olds. The 1 2 and 13 year olds run a half mile, 3 4 and 11 require 3 4 mile, and 12 13 run a mile. Prizes for first, second and third in each division and ribbons for all. Additional programs planned for December and contact details given.
