Justice court hearings last week resulted in several fines and two confinement sentences. Joe Higgins and Christian J Mc Kenney face today’s hearing on drunk and disorderly charges. Hilton Kirby received a lay jail sentence for drunken behavior and suspended sentence violation. Tom Ayers fined 25 dollars for license issues. Shafter Generals Triumph In 25 13 Football Win Over Wasco
In front of about 6000 fans Shafter High School beat Wasco 25 to 13 on their home field. The Generals used a big 82 yard pass play and strong defense to overcome Wasco, while Wasco led 13 13 at one point before Shafter pulled away. Packard and Scales starred for Shafter with key moves along with the Colonels scoring on a short run. Wasco’s only major highlight came on a Schroeder pass to Gilwitz for a 13 point lead before Shafter answered with a late interception to seal the game.
