In Amatlicha Mexico a group of Nahuatl women led by a local teacher organized to ease daily chores with a gasoline powered mill. By 1994 MCC funds matched by the Women's Union of Tlapa supported roughly half the cost, empowering the women to press on despite scarce resources.

The Kern County Farm Bureau and Kern Agricultural Foundation host the fourth annual Teachers Ag Seminar August 8 9 and 10. It helps K 8 teachers integrate agriculture into classroom subjects and activities with lessons projects and a farmer’s day.
