Shafter Police Chief Greeson Put on Leave Amid New Witness Claims
Two more witnesses accuse Greeson of wrongdoing as he takes administrative leave ordered by City Manager Wade McKinney. A former SPD narcotics officer testifies that drugs in the department property room were unaccounted for, and another witness alleges an affair with Shafter teenager Bonnie Gallegos. The district attorney’s office may pursue a comprehensive investigation while Greeson and McKinney deny all charges. The controversy surrounds city administration and a prior ethics question involving Mayor Linda Gragg.
