McLaren delays suit over Shafter officials
McLaren a former Shafter Police officer filed a federal suit March 28 in Fresno against the city and several Kern County leaders alleging defamation and other claims. He sought a delay. preliminary conference set before Judge Edward D Price. McLaren, who worked for Shafter Police from 1979 to 1981, also contends City Administrator August Caires defamed him by telling media he was fired.
