Fly-In Highlights Historic Minter Field Aircrafts
Nearly 100 planes from World War I to modern crop duster helicopters filled Minter Field runways for a free open day. Veterans and volunteers, including Gene Turner known as The Original Top Gun, shared history while kids saw cockpits and rides, funding preservation at the Minter Field Air Museum. The pancake breakfast kicked off a day of exhibits, takeoffs, landings, and vintage vehicles, drawing a diverse local crowd in Shafter.
