California reached an all time high for building last year with about 105000 dwelling units. The report breaks down contracts by type showing Residential 315,405,000 Industrial 116,244,000 Commercial and Other 181,266,000 Housing 25,438,000 Other buildings 26,474,000 Other construction 202,853,000 Total Public 254,765,000 and total 612,875,000. Public works contracts totaled 255,000,000 with 116,000,000 Federal projects and 139,000,000 awarded by state counties cities and local agencies.
