Health and Safety Fair in Shafter Draws 350 Attendees
The Second Annual Health and Safety Fair was held on Thursday April 29 1999 in Shafter drawing about 350 adults and children. Organized by the Shafter Community Partnership Healthy Start Steering Committee the event showcased services from Kern County agencies and local organizations while featuring activities from SHS students and local volunteers.

Richland Track Team Qualifies for County Meet
Richland track athletes earned multiple qualifying marks at the Northern Section Area Meet in Taft on May 1 1999. qualifiers include Phillip Jimenez Dagberto Rodriguez Eddie Aldape and more across Bantam Midget and Intermediate divisions with top placings in sprints distance relays jumps and throws. The team will compete again May 15 at the Kern County Championships seeking further advancement.
