Women Speak On Forgiveness And Abuse At World Assembly
A crowd heard Winnie Bartel executive chair of the WEF Commission on Women's Concerns in Shafter urge forgiveness as a path to addressing violence. The assembly included regional chairs Margaret Jacobs Nancy Clark and Lucet Thomas. They outlined a task force to define abuse scope, gather stories, research with Campbell and Associates, and publish a Biblical primer on dignity while developing resources and programs to address abuse locally and globally. Chief John Zrofsky of Shafter noted domestic violence as the area’s primary violent crime and pledged united efforts to confront it.
