Tom Flanagan principal will join a six week summer mathematics institute starting his first year of a three year program. Ervin Nephew education director attends the summer mathematics institute at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
The Kern County 4-H Dress Revue will be held Saturday at 7 30 for the public to view 106 girls and their clothing projects. County Stars will preside and special awards from the Kern County Cotton Wives and Wool Growers Auxiliary will be presented to top girls for outstanding garments.
Mary Celebration recalls arriving in 1919 to buy out Mr Shomate on May 1. She describes a general store and grocer, early streets and buildings, water supply via wood tank and pipe, a septic tank misstep at Stringham's, and efforts to secure a high school. She notes community groups and infrastructure pushes with mixed success and plans to continue the diary.
