Museum field trips for Kern County elementary students
Principals are reminded that field trips to Lori Brock Junior Museum are available for kindergarten through second grade students. A Story Time is held each Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 12 noon, with 30 minutes of storytelling and 30 minutes of an art adventure. Sunday for Cancer Blood Drive at KPWR TV
The American Cancer Society and KPWR TV sponsor a day long Sunday for Cancer telethon from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Volunteers will collect blood at the Houchin Blood Bank facility at the station to build a local blood bank for cancer patients. Buck Owens will be interviewed, and Dr. Edward Fischer explains the need for large blood supplies for cancer surgery and treatments. Residents may pledge blood on air or call in questions to experts.
