Fashion Show Sparks Community Fundraiser in Shafter
A large crowd attended the Soroptimist Fashion Show on Thursday March 21 in Shafter. Club president Jeannette Hernstedt outlined the Soroptimists International history since 1921 and local presence since 1987. Funds support Community Scholarships and a Dope Dog for the DARE program. Barbara Blair of Buttonwillow served as fashion moderator. Clothing from Shirley's Dress Shop Reno's Johnson's Dept Store and Shafter Sporting Goods modeled the spring line Fashions of Spring. Entertainment by the Inspirations featuring Shawna Starrh Chris Starrh and Vonne Unruh with piano.
