Blue and Gold Cub Scout Banquet Celebrates 46th Anniversary
Three hundred twenty nine attended the Blue and Gold cub banquet hosted Friday night. Mrs Hughesman supervised the meal and Bernie Morris directed home economics. Decorations featured blue and gold as five packs of cub scouts joined Maple Bravo and Delano. Reg Hammond chaired the event. Roger and Gary of Channel 29 entertained attendees. Saturday training session showcased handiwork exhibits and pack administration films. Twenty five certificates of training were awarded.

Ben Steele has been named new scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 959 sponsored by the Shafter Kiwanis club. Dr. Leonard Duck, chair of the clubs boys and girls committee, announced the appointment. A fire-troop meeting is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday in the scout hall.
