Shafter Council Allocates CDBG Funds for Skatepark Move
The Shafter City Council approves using approximately 547,855 in CDBG funds for 2003 04 to relocate the skate park to the Youth Activity Center site on East Euclid Avenue and to build Westside Park near Los Angeles Avenue and Schnidt Street. A cement slab costing 100,000 will support the temporary equipment behind the new youth center.

Dairies Face New Buffer Zone Plan in Shafter
On February 18 the council held a second reading of proposed dairy changes and approved zone amendments to take effect 30 days after final passage. The plan with Wasco aims for a two mile buffer instead of three. Florez seeks a public hearing May 2 at Shafter City Hall to discuss dairies and air pollution.
