Tackett vows to fight nuclear plant in Kern County
Kern County Supervisor Gene Tackett and fellow supervisor Trice Harvey oppose the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power plan for a nuclear plant near Wasco. The Tuesday session drew a standing room crowd of farmers opposing the project. Tackett urged LOI to abandon inland siting, arguing water for cooling should support agriculture and that the Board must act in citizens’ best interests.
