Veteran's Memorial Wall plans advance in Shafter
Plans and costs for a three sided Veterans Memorial Wall at Shafter Memorial Park move forward with a $13,000 project. The Memorial Committee needs $4,000 in donations to start cement work and asks for contributions from residents and the American Legion Auxiliary. The granite will display 900 names initially and be updated yearly. The Shafter Chamber of Commerce collects donations, with locations at Shafter Depot and Glad Raggs, or by mail.
