The Shafter Chamber of Commerce announces its first annual scholarship golf tournament a four person scramble on Saturday March 25 starting at 7 a.m. Players will be assigned to teams and registration details are available at the chamber office or 746 2600. The event runs alongside IRS tax help at Apple Market March 8 from 9 30 a m to 4 30 p m with the tax mobile in Shafter. Additional community meetings include Cinco de Mayo gatherings weekly at 6 30 p m and Sunday afternoons at 273 Faber St. AARP board meeting March 10 at Walker Senior Center with a March 20 potluck at 11 30 a m Veterans Hall. and American Legion Auxiliary meeting March 21 at 6 p m with a guest speaker.
