Union Working On New Location For Fifth Well
Construction of a sump and derrick foundation is underway at Union Oil’s new project 534 on the east line of the lease, 990 feet south and west of the northeast corner of Section 34, 28-25. No. 3-34 has 11,206 feet of casing cemented. No. 2-34 reaches 6,800 feet with a sidetrack depth, but the hole was lost after casing caved near 6,100 feet. The site is north of Union 2-34 and offsets Superior’s Geissinger No. 3. It will be Union’s second Shafter field completion.
