Superior Oil tests Mary Anderson No 1 in Shafter field
Superior Oil tested its Mary Anderson No 1 in the Shafter field with the bottom at about 11 500 feet. Test results were not released. The well will be completed in three days. The company announced Mary Anderson No 2 location at the north end 990 ft south and 990 ft west of the Section 35 25-25 corner. Preliminary grading on the new location has begun.

General Petroleum brought Wagner No. 2 on production in the Shafterfield Monday night, swabbing in 1798 barrels from a % inch bean. Three more wells are under way with Wagner No. 4 spudding at 300 feet and Wagner No. 3 awaiting rigging. Wagner No. 2 depth 11 255 feet, Vedder sand 245 feet open for production, potential capacity at least 5 000 barrels per day. three million cubic feet of gas estimated with the oil flow.
