Job Fair Opens Doors for Kern County Residents
Residents flocked to the Richland Community Center in Shafter for a Job Fair sponsored by the Career Services Center. Over 50 employers and about 20 community resource agencies accepted applications and shared information. The event, the sixth of eight held this year, showcased one stop services across nine Career Service Centers in Kern County, with CSC offering employer reimbursements up to 50 percent of new employee wages during training and free recruiting and pre screening for firms. Tax benefits in Enterprise Zone include business expense deductions and other incentives.
