Old Mettler Barn Destroyed by Fire in Shafter
The Em Mettler Sons barn on Tulare Ave in Shafter was completely destroyed by fire at 7 45 p m Tuesday. Fire units from Shafter Wasco and Highland Park battled the blaze as sparks from welding repairs set dry feed and potato sacks ablaze. The fire spread rapidly and the structure burned to the ground.
