San Joaquin Municipal Utility District avoids accepting its distribution system until readiness noted by officials. Leaks have appeared in the ditch system built by a private firm under Reclamation Bureau supervision. Delegation of SSJMUD officials met with Washington officials to discuss the problem.
A new medical center at 2020 North Chester Ave serves the Greater Oildale area with three doctors and a dentist. Built by Ralph Hoyle, it houses an x ray unit, lab, physiotherapy, and a prescription pharmacy linked to El Tejon Pharmacy. Doctors Dr. Thomas V. Reese and Dr. John Adamson operate the facility, with ample parking and a Highland Park Paint Store finish.
