Acting director named for Shafter summer recreation program
Dwayne Brimhall, 24 year old Richland School teacher, will serve as acting director of the Shafter summer recreation program substituting for Roy Farrell who is attending summer sessions at San Jose College. Farrell, Richland physical education director, finishes his master's degree this summer. Brimhall, a native of Arizona, will direct the program in Farrells absence for the next six weeks. He cares for seven seventh graders at the local institution.

Andy Joe Bell a 23 year old Wasco native was appointed to a cotton breeding and strain variety test assignment at the Shafter Experiment Station announced by Director John Turner. Bell trained in agricultural crops at Fresno State College and begins work immediately in the San Joaquin Valley and Shafter station programs. He is supported by the California Planting Cottonseed Distributors and is a Delano School graduate whose parents live in rural Wasco and wife Mary Ann Erickson of Delano.
